Requirements for AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use:
- Prescription Needed: A doctor’s prescription is required to get an AED.
- Training Required: Anyone expected to use an AED must be trained in CPR and how to operate the AED.
- Register with Authorities: The AED owner must notify the Department of Safety within 30 days of getting the device.
- Maintenance: The AED must be kept in good working condition, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Reporting Use: There are no current laws about reporting when an AED is used.
